Let’s not revisit the reasons for the success of the Gravel segment in recent years; we have already extensively discussed the subject.

With this new model, Santa Cruz’s promise is clear: “Less Car, More Bike.”

This is a versatile urban bike that has been designed here; but it is especially a very lightweight e-bike (13.6 kg), maneuverable, and with good range (90 KM according to the manufacturer’s specifications).

The appeal of this model (and of this e-gravel category that should take off) is also and mainly to have a “commuting” bike during the week that can transform into a traditional bike for a “sporty” outing on the weekend.

It’s the equivalent of the “engageable” 4×4 mode that automotive brands have offered since the 1980s on urban models (the ancestors of SUVs, in the end) in order to have versatility depending on use.

And to think that some still question the relevance of electric power in bikes…
