VTTAE: BETTING ON LIGHTNESS
TQgroup®
Today, there are two marked trends in electrically assisted bicycles. The first is power and range, the second is about having a more reasonable powertrain, supported by smaller batteries, resulting in lighter bikes, a quality that is always important in cycling. This is particularly true for mountain bikes, with many brands offering both configurations.
Fazua, a German motor manufacturer, has quickly positioned itself in the niche, but there are other players, including TQ, who are presenting this hyper-compact machine. The TQ-HPR50 delivers a power of 300 watts and a torque of 50 Nm (when the big motors are around 500 watts between 80 and 105 Nm for the most virtuous), yet it weighs only 1,850 g and its battery 1,830 g. The whole thing is therefore less than 4 kg. Aesthetically speaking, the interest is clear, but the TQ is also very discreet in terms of noise.
